Fidget is as its name suggests, characterized by erratic and spontaneous structures displaying a higher level of compositional detail than previous productions. It was made by combining live jamming and in the box production. Fidget borrows from the spontaneity that comes with live improvisation, as discovered on previous releases such as Megafauna 2013-15 who’s compositional process focused more on live jamming. However as a result of Fidgets creation coinciding with studying digital production at Access to Music, it was discovered that the benefit of composing and producing in-the-box was control. The tracks on this EP are experiments discovering what’s possible when the control of digital production meets the spontaneity of live jamming/improvisation.
